Where black people and nature meet
On Sunday, August 16th, 2009, three members of the Beckwourth Outdoors hiked/climbed Cataract Falls above lower Cataract Lake in Summit County, Colorado. We climbed alongside two impressive, waterfalls - one 400 feet high and the other 75 feet high with some bushwhacking west of the second waterfall. The 4-1/2 mile, 6 hour hike to the top of the two waterfalls was very, very difficult as we navigated over/under boulders, fallen trees and up cliff walls. On the way to the trailhead, we encountered some big horn sheep near the town of Georgetown.
