OBG Adventure Camps presents an Adult Luxury Camping Weekend for the Girls at El Capitan Canyon

August 18, 2011 to August 21, 2011
This is a pilot camp for adult Brown Girls (and the people who love us!). =) If it goes well (and it will), I'm going to take this show on the road and get my fellow Brown Girls outdoors!!! Modeled after OBG Adventure Camps for girls 11-16, I believe in the intimacy of small groups, so there is room for 10. Each participant brings a friend and shares a safari tent (double beds). The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Option to carpool &/or caravan from the Bay Area since the group…See More

Glamper or Camper? What's the Diff?

I made the switch some time ago without even realizing it. I guess I should have figured it out sooner, but it wasn’t until I went to Santa Barbara last month that I suddenly realized that I’m a glamper…and I like it. Let me explain.…

And today, I teared up while spending the day at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium while I watched transfixed as the beluga whales and the beluga baby calf swam gracefully in the water. And while I'm okay about admitting the fact that I'd probably be scared to…

Hi Tracey,

Glad to hear that Jil contacted you. Yes, I am really happy that I learned about this site. It is a much needed source of inspiration for a lot of people. Nice to meet you... :-)

Great idea I want the outdoors to be open to all kids of color. I will spread the camp blog link around. Living in the sunshine state I have only to walk a few blocks to the ocean. Howeever I know kids that have never been camping or participated in water activities. I have made it my goal to change that for urban youth though.
