Hey ya'll...I'm reggie...an outdoor experiential educator, and a natural environment enthusiast...I work as an Interim Youth Programs Manager, a Recreational Supervisor, a Sailing Instructor, a Sea Kayaking Instructor, a Backcountry Backpacking Instructor, a Stand-Up Paddleboarding Instructor, and a Challenge Course Facilitator...I'm surrounded by great people, but would love to see more people that look like me enjoying sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the Bay...I would love to see more people that look like me connecting with nature 10 or more miles in the backcountry of desolation wilderness...I would love to see more groups that look like me challengin' themselves to start building community on our Ropes Course...So, I got to thinkin'...If I wanna see more people of color re-connect with nature through backpacking, sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc, I have to disseminate the knowledge I've acquired doing and teaching these activities to more people of color...What I'm thinkin' about doing is putting together some socio-instructional opportunities for anyone interested in learning any of the above boating activities...the only cost I forsee in running something like this would be the cost to rent the equipment for the duration of each class (i.e. sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, windsurf rigs). I will volunteer the instruction of each boating activity, and lead excursions into the wilderness should people want to go on any trips...If this idea is somethin' you think you'd be interested in, let me know...as I get responses and gain a feel for the number of people that would like to join me, I'll post a calendar of events with full info...thanks for reading, and see you out on the water, or on a trail somewhere...peace...
